Desiree Lynne Bass

Desiree Lynne Barnes Bass, 53, of Halifax passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.  She was born in Chesapeake, VA on January 24, 1971, the daughter of Dreama Barfield Barnes and David Ray Barnes.

Surviving include her three children:  Lindsey Welbaum (Michael) of Raleigh, Chandler Bass (Alyssa Armstrong) of Halifax, and Corey Bass (Amy Conrad) of Halifax; her brother Shannon Barnes (Ellen) of Cape Carteret, her sister Davina Libbey of Halifax, her adopted brother Larry Summerlin of Cape Carteret, and her adopted sister Dakota Ray Gardner of Cape Carteret.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service to assist the family during this time.

A Celebration of Desiree’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Stan Lewis officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.
