Woody Turner

Woody Turner, 68, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026 in his home. Mr. Turner was born in Germany on September 14, 1957. He is preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth Mae Quay and Ron Quay and his sister Cindy Phipps.

Woody loved to go bowling with his grandson Hayden, he enjoyed riding his dogs around in his truck and more importantly his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to watch Harlow play softball. Woody was an avid carpenter and spent his life working with his hands, starting at an early age. He passed his carpentry skills to his grandson, Gavin.

Surviving include his wife Teresa Hux Turner, his sons: Michael Dwayne Hux and Craig Hux (Ashley), his brothers Bo Turner (Michelle) and Kenny Turner (Sheila), his sister Debbie Stephenson, his uncle Ray Rooker (Kathy), his aunt Faye Rooker, his grandchildren: Austin Hux, Braxtin Hux, Gavin Hux (Kylie), Hayden Hux, and Harlow Hux, his great grandchildren: Oakley Mae Hux and Wesson Hux, his special dog and riding buddy Spike, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members that he loved dearly.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Crestview Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service. Friends can sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.
