Willis Cleveland "Bill" Ricks Jr

Roanoke Rapids-

Willis Cleveland Bill Ricks, Jr., 56, of Sam Powell Dairy Road, died Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Ricks was born September 21, 1955, to the late Willis Cleveland Ricks, Sr. and Margaret Frances McClung Ricks. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruthie Ricks Warren, and niece, Laurie Warren Capel.

He served in the United States Air Force and was president of the Civil Service Union at Andrews Air Force Base. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He is survived by his son, Greg Ricks and fianc, Christine Livesay; his brother, Joel Ricks and wife, Ramona; his sisters, Beth Ricks Sheppard and husband, Michael, Doris Ricks Carter and husband, Danny, all of Roanoke Rapids, and Annette Ricks White and husband, Donald, of Syracuse, NY; a half brother,JimmyMcClung and wife Jean; four grandchildren, who affectionately called their grandfather Hey, Collin Ricks, Nolyn Pearson, Lealand Ricks, and Alexis Lewter.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service at 6:00 pm conducted by Franklin Jones and Bishop M. Blaine Given, Jr.

The family will receive friends after the service from 7-8 pm.
