William "Billy" Robertson

William “Billy” Robertson, 75, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Sunday July 30, 2023 at his home.

Billy was born September 18, 1947 in Halifax County to the late William Gray Robertson and Mildred Lee Matthews Robertson.  Billy was also preceded in death by his wife Beth Gray-Robertson; his sister Susan Robertson.

Billy was a member of South Rosemary United Methodist Church.  He loved studying God’s Word and led Bible studies in his home for many years.  One of his favorite scriptures was Jeremiah 29:11.

Billy was young at heart and a lot of fun.  He was knowledgeable on many topics.  Conversations with him were interesting, informative, sometimes deep, and many times hilarious.  He loved making people laugh and had a unique sense of humor.  He also had his own personal sense of style and dressed accordingly.  Billy enjoyed sharing good meals with his close friends.  He shared countless memories and many adventures with his precious wife Beth.  He missed her all the days of his life.

Billy was one of a kind and he will be missed.

Billy is survived by his niece Kathy Harrison and her husband Mike; sisters-in-law Pam Keeter, Bevey McKee, and Barbara Kirby; his best friend Shane Johnson; longtime friend Melinda Speight.

There will be a private celebration of life at a later date.
