William Thomas Conner

William Thomas Conner, Jr., 67, of Roanoke Rapids, died Tuesday evening, July 3, 2018 in his home.

William was born in Halifax County on December 22, 1950. He served as a Combat Engineer in the US Army
during the Vietnam war. Following his service, William worked as a pipe fitter in the construction industry.

William enjoyed playing golf, fishing and dancing; he was a jokester and loved story telling. He enjoyed
his friends and never met a stranger; but most of all, he loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Raymond Conner; daughters, Tiffany True and Michelle Conner;
grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Crawford, Patrick Hunter Huestess, Amanda Jane Bradley,
Jamie Elizabeth Conner, Harley Paige Hall, Randall Junior Turner, Robert Thomas Turner,
Summer Ashley True and Kassidy Raye Conner; great-grandchildren, Tommy Ray and CJ;
and sisters, Norma Munn and Rose Grant.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday, July 9, at
Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service. William requested cremation, and other
services will be private.
