Wade Bryan Thornton, Sr.

Wade Bryan Thornton, Sr, 63 of St. Joseph, LA, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 in Franklin Medical Center.  Mr. Thornton was born in Germany, the son of the late Lottie B. Thornton and Reubin P. Thornton.  He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter Cayleigh Thornton, his brother:  William “Speedy” Thornton, and his daughter in law Heather Thornton.

Surviving include his wife Janet B. Thornton of the home, his two daughters Jessica Leigh Jewel Thornton (Antonio) of Wilson, NC and Amanda Gayle Thornton (Chris) of Vicksboro, NC; his two sons:  Wade Bryan Thornton, Jr. (Kasey) of Louisburg, NC, and Marcus Duane Thornton, Sr. (Christina) of Franklinton, NC; his sisters:  Carol Thornton of Gaston, NC and Bridgett Byrum (Steve) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his brother Duane Thornton (Carolyn) of Virginia, and 11 grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 14 ^th , 2023 in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Roxboro, NC with Reverend Wade Nelms officiating.  The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Hockaday Funeral Home.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com .
