Viola Bell Conner Dail, 77 of 13 Village Avenue, Windsor, formerly of Gaston, NC died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Mrs. Dail was born September 17, 1932 in Warren County, North Carolina to the late Willie Russell and Mattie Bell Lynch Conner. Mrs. Dail was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Gaston. She was employed by Northampton County Schools in Food Service at Gaston High School. She was married April 10, 1954 to Charles Douglas Dail who preceded her in death in October 1990. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Emmitt Conner and John Milton Beatle Conner; and two sisters: Irene Hill and Elanor Conner; Mrs. Dail is survived by her children: Michael Ray Dail and his wife Carolyn of Windsor, James Elbert Spanky Dail and wife Linda of Colonial Heights, VA; her Brother: Thomas Russell Conner and wife Frances of South Boston, VA; her grandchildren: Michael Ray Dail, II and wife Stacey of Winterville, NC, Brian Anthony Dail of Windsor, William Eugene Lawrence of Raleigh, Christopher Goodwin Lawrence of Wilson, John Gibson of Colonial Heights, VA, Jeff Brown and wife Dawn of Jacksonville, FL, Angel Taleb and husband Nasser of Colonial Heights, VA, Michelle Edenbeck and husband Robert , Chris Gibson and wife Nichole both of Roanoke Rapids, Jade Harris and husband Mason of Colonial Heights, VA; 17 great grandchildren; and a special niece: Bobbie Ann Conner Clark of Richmond, VA. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2009 and Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Jimmy Jarrell officiating. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2009 at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids. Memorials may be made to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, WBCA, and Attn: Megan Smith, 4646 Lawrenceville Highway, Lilburn, GA 30047.
