Vergil Laprade

Mr. Vergil LaPrade, 49, of Roanoke Rapids, died January 5, 2018 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Vergil was born October 5, 1968 in Orange County, NC, the son of William Henry and Marie Williams LaPrade.  He was a retired paramedic, and was a volunteer for the Vance County Rescue Squad as well as the Afton - Elberton Fire Department.

Vergil is survived by his wife, Debra J. LaPrade; stepson, Timothy White and wife Sandra, and their son, Christopher, of Roanoke Rapids; stepdaughter, Sandra White of Parkersburg, WV; brothers, Bud Wilson and wife Denise, and Steve Wilson and wife Lyn, all of Henderson; and his sister, Donna Jean McAllister of Macon, NC.

A Time of Remembrance, to honor Vergils' life, will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2 until 4 pm at the Vance County Rescue Building in Henderson.   Please bring your memories and stories about Vergil to share.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the Vance County Rescue Squad, PO Box 402, Henderson, NC 27536.

Arrangements for Mr. LaPrade are under the care of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service of Roanoke Rapids.
