Troy Carter

Larry Troy Carter, 71, died Monday, August 22, 2022 in his Littleton home.

Troy was born in Halifax County on September 25, 1950, a son of George and Nettie Carter.

He worked for a number of years in the textiles industry, then later worked as a logger.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Troy was quite fond of using his zero turn mower to cut the grass.  Troy loved his family, his dogs, and liked helping others.  He was always happy when he was driving his 1978 GMC truck.

Troy is survived by his wife, Pearl; sons, Shane Carter and Andy Carter; 7 grandchildren; step-children, Shawn Bumguardner, Pam Chang; and several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tony Carter; and three brothers, one of whom was Troy’s twin.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church, with Pastors Michael Little, Russ Collins and Dennis Joyner, presiding.  The family will receive friends following the service.
