Toni Collier Saunders, 72, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026 in ECU Medical Center in Greenville. Mrs. Saunders was born on October 21, 1953, in Petersburg, VA, the daughter of the late Hazel Barnes and William “Bill” Collier. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Michale Ann Lancaster and Lorenda Wright and her grandchild Jayden Alexander Kendall.

Mrs. Saunders worked at Coastal Lumber Company for many years and retired as a rehab tech at Northampton Nursing and Rahab in 2016.   She was loved and cherished by her friends, coworkers, and residents.  She loved her furbabies, gardening, baking, Known for her sour dough bread which her family always looked forward to.  The beach was her happy place with her toes in the sand and she enjoyed relaxing in her pool.

Surviving include her husband Jerry Frank Saunders, her daughters Kim Moretz and Jerri Saunders and her husband Jeff, her brother Richard “Ricky” Collier, her sister Billie Burnett, and her grandchild Lucy Saunders.
