Tommy Hathaway

Thomas "Tommy" Richard Hathaway Jr., 52, of Weldon, NC passed away on October 5, 2020, in his home following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Tommy was born July 1, 1968, in Portsmouth, Virginia. He lived a fulfilling life as a loving and devoted son and father. He dedicated a great deal of his life to a career in law enforcement. Tommy was well known for his outgoing personality and sense of humor and was a friend to many. He will be dearly missed. Left to cherish his memory are his father, Thomas R. Hathaway Sr., of Nashville, NC, his mother Lana Griggs, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and his daughters Kendall Hathaway and Kennedy Hathaway, both of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

The family will have a private service; but will receive friends from 6 pm – 8 pm on Friday,  October 9, 2020, at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Services.

Due to the pandemic, the family asks that masks be worn inside and that visitors practice social distancing.
