Thelma O'Neal Horne

Thelma ONeal Horne, 80, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Horne was born January 25, 1934 in Cumberland County, N.C. to the late James William ONeal and Nellie Irene Chavis Paschall. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband: Floyd Warren Horne; a daughter: Cheryl Horne; her brother: Billy ONeal.

She was a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She lived her life to take care of others.

Mrs. Horne is survived by three daughters: Carol Horne Ezell; Donna Cribb and husband Troy, all of Roanoke Rapids; and Shirley Chavis Straight and husband Bill of Berlin Heights, Ohio; Nine grandchildren: Troy Strickland and wife Kristen; Chris Strickland; Billy Strickland and fianc Barbie; Kari Ezell; Benjamin Ezell; Emery Cribb; Warren Cribb; Michael Straight; and Andrew Straight and wife Carol; five great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Landen, Tylen, Kaleb, and Nathan; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Crestview Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Jordan Willard and Mr. Kenneth Brantley, officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, September 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service..
