Teresa Lynne Carter

Teresa Lynne Carter, 67, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at her home.

Teresa was born September 5, 1958, in Halifax County. Teresa was a loving mother and Maw Maw. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her favorite color was yellow. She was full of fire, and she always lit up the room. My sunshine. Teresa was a faithful employee of Walmart Produce Department for over fifteen years. She also worked for Newsom Oil Company for over twenty years.

Teresa is survived by her husband Dannie W. Carter; her son, Daniel Carter and his wife Kinzey of Raleigh; Her daughters, Amanda C. Powell and her husband Lee and Sarah Lynne Carter both of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren, Jason and Ethan Powell and Adeline Carter; her two fur babies, Gracie and Emma; her brother, Lee Walker of South Carolina; her sister, Elizabeth Jenkins and her husband Roger of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews; her brothers-in-law, Vernon Carter and David Carter and his wife Edith; her sister-in-law, Ruth Butts.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 23, 2026, in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Justin Fender officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
