Tammy Lynn Wood, 42,left this worldto be with herLord and Savior,Jesus Christ, Monday, September 13, 2010.

Tammy was born July 24, 1968 in Halifax County to the late Jimmy Everette Wood, Sr. and Edna Burkette Wood. She was a loving mother, grandmother, friend and caregiver. In addition to her parents, Tammy was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, James H. Wood and maternal grandmother, Clara Burkette.

Surviving are her daughter, Ashley House of New York and one brother, Jimmy E. Wood, II and wife Shelia of Halifax. Also surviving is her granddaughter, Mikayla Chestnut; two nieces Courtnee Wood and Hayley Wood; paternal grandmother, Texie Wood and several aunts and uncles.

The family will have a memorial service Sunday, September 19th at 4:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ on 116 Emry St. Roanoke Rapids. Officiating will be Pastor Annie Marie Doodle Smith. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
