Tammy Merritt Smith

Tammy Merritt Smith, 59 of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away peacefully at ECU Health North surrounded by family on Thursday October 24, 2024.  She was born on November 15, 1964, in Halifax County.  She was preceded in death by her parents Julius Earl and Lillian Gibson Merritt.

She is survived by her husband William Smith, step-son Will Smith (fiancée Jessica), grandson Ethan Byrd, brother Junior Merritt (Gloria), mother in law Judy Smith, numerous, aunts, cousins and friends and her most loved fur baby “Fluffy”.

The visitation will be on Sunday October 27, 2024, 2:00pm to 2:45pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremations. Funeral service will be held on Sunday October 27, 2024, at 3:00pm in Hockaday Chapel with Pastor Stan Lewis presiding, interment will follow in Cedarwood cemetery.

Tammy loved the outdoors hunting and fishing, she also loved working on projects, crafts and painting. Her cooking skills will be missed by her family.
