Susan Hux Capps

Susan Hux Capps, 71, of Roanoke Rapids passed away peacefully Saturday, April 27, 2019 at her home.

Susan was born July 25, 1947 in Norfolk, VA to the late H.T. Hux, Jr. and Lucy Dickens Hux. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Gary Hux; her sister, Terry Hux.

Susan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, family driven, faithful, devoted Christian and an avid reader. She loved to shop for shoes. Susan was affectionately known to her grandchildren as Cook Cook.

Susan is survived by her husband, Alton B. “Buck” Capps, Jr.; her children, Amy Pittman and her husband Don of Nashville, NC, Jason Capps of Greenville, NC; her grandchildren, Brent Rowland, Alex Capps, Keith Pittman, Priscilla Daniels and her husband Cameron and Tyler Pittman; her special cousins, Connie, Jeannie and Pam.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Susan’s life will be held 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Stan Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
