Sue Crutchfield Boone

Sue Crutchfield Boone, 76, died August 27, 2021 at Vidant North Hospital.

Sue was born in South Hill, VA on November 7, 1944, a daughter of Robert Sterlin and Lucille Daniel Crutchfield.  In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by a son, Robert F. “Robbie” Boone, III; a grandson, James L. Parker; and a brother, Bobby Crutchfield.

Sue retired from the textile industry where she worked as a warp tender.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Linwood Earl Peterson of Roanoke Rapids; a son, Jeffery Lynn Boone of Graham; daughters, Tammy Boone Terry of Blanche, NC, and Deborah Boone Wheeler of Roanoke Rapids; step-daughters, Teresa Peterson of Roanoke Rapids, Betty Brown of Gaston; brothers Robert “Bob” Crutchfield and Billy Crutchfield of  Graham; a sister, Margie Williams of Chesapeake, VA; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family from 7:00 – 8:30 pm Tuesday at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
