Steven Charlie Vick

Steven Charlie Vick, 60, passed away peacefully at his home, May 5, 2013.

Mr. Vick was born in Halifax County, February 16, 1953, to the late Lynwood Vick and Helen Vincent Vick. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid Carolina fan. He had several hobbies, but found a love for taking pictures while in the woods or hiking around the river. He had a fondness for arts and crafts and would share them with several of the nursing homes throughout the area. Mr. Vick had a strong relationship with the Lord and loved attending Calvary Baptist Church. He loved people and everyone that he met. He was 100% with the Lord. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vick is preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Danny Vick.

Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Mae Vick of the home; step-son, Johnnie Mercer and wife, Michele; step-daughter, Linda Faye Davis and sister, Joyce Ann Baird and husband, Tommy, all of Roanoke Rapids. Also surviving are four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 7-8:30 pm.

Rev. Randy Martin will conduct funeral services Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church at 11:00 am with interment to follow in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids.
