Stanley Arrington Lewis, Sr.

Stanley Arrington Lewis, Sr. 90, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at home.

Mr. Lewis was born September 15, 1927 in Halifax County to the late Chester Layman Lewis and Lillie Dickens Lewis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris C. Lewis; his brother, William L. Lewis; his sisters, Beatrice Johnson and Imogene Aiken.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Irminger and her husband Ray of Oak Ridge, TN; his son, Rev. Stanley A. "Stan" Lewis, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Roanoke Rapids; his grandchildren, Lesley Irminger and her fiance Matt, Philip Irminger and his wife Elise; his great grandchildren, Mercy Irminger and Charity Irminger; his nieces and nephews including a special niece Mary Carol Lewis Curran.

A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Lewis's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Sid Collins and Rev. Bob Rose officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at the church.
