Shirley Gray Miller

Shirley Gray Miller, 93, of Roanoke Rapids died Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in Vidant North Hospital.

Mrs. Miller was born on April 10, 1927, in Emporia, VA.  She was a daughter of John Roy Gray and Francis Virginia Irby Gray.  Her parents; husband, Jarman “Doc” Miller; and a son, Dennis Stainback, all preceded her in death.

She was educated in the Greensville County Schools in Emporia.

Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and loving mother.

Survivors include her sons, Tech.Sgt. (Ret) Terry Stainback and wife, Becky, of Roanoke Rapids, Steven “Huck” Harrell of South Boston, VA; her daughter, Sherrie Bailey, of Roanoke Rapids;  two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and loving caretaker, Frances McNair.

The service for Mrs. Miller will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 21, 2020 from the graveside at Cedarwood Cemetery.   Pastor Randy Martin will preside.   Friends may visit with the family following the service.
