Sheri Haislip Gibson

July 23, 1968 — August 18, 2021

Sheri Lynn Haislip Gibson, 53, of Jackson died August 18, 2021 at Vidant Pitt Hospital in Greenville.

Sheri was born July 23, 1968 in Halifax County, the daughter of Fred William and Virginia Ann Harris Haislip.

She was passionate about all things cooking; she enjoyed cooking, watching cooking shows on television, and making new recipes.  Her meatloaf, as well as cheesy chicken, were family favorites.

Sheri enjoyed playing bingo as often as she could.  She also liked watching the butterflies around her house.  She was known as the “peacemaker” and always saw the good in everyone.

Survivors include her daughter, Alyssa Gibson (Dillion Ruble); and son, JC Gibson, III, both of Roanoke Rapids; boyfriend, Joe Beasley of Jackson; step-mother, Connie Haislip;  sister, Amy Hedspeth (David Grant); brother, Dale Haislip (Amanda), all of Roanoke Rapids; nieces and nephews, Megan Haislip, Colby Haislip, Ashley Hedspeth; great-nephew, Braylen Lassiter; and best friend, Kim Parker.

The memorial service for Sheri Gibson will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 11:00 am, at Chockoyotte Baptist Church (153 Wheeler St, Roanoke Rapids), with Rev. Henry F. Stephens presiding.

The family will receive friends at church following the memorial service; at other times friends may call at the residence of Dale and Amanda Haislip on River Road in Weldon.
