Shellie Danielle Nelson

Shellie Danielle Nelson, 35, of Rocky Mount passed away at her home Friday, December 13, 2024.

Shellie was born on December 21, 1988, in Halifax County to Freddie Wayne Shaw and Tina Nelson Lillibridge.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William Wayne Shaw and Portia Faye Shaw; her maternal grandparents, Haywood Ray Nelson and Tonya Claiborne; her aunt, Tracy Miles, her cousin, T.J. Nelson and her uncle John Henry Shelton.

Shellie cherished being a mother, she had a tremendous amount of patience. She was very caring, loving, funny, faithful, and never met a stranger and a friend to everyone she met. Shellie loved her dog, Neimiah.

Shellie is survived by her father, Freddie Wayne Shaw and his fiancé Cynthia Hall; her mother, Tina Lillibridge and her step-father James; her children, Olivia Thompson and Caleb Thompson; her brother, Corey Lillibridge and his wife Brandy; her aunts and uncles, Tammie Johnson and her husband Walter, Tammy Strickland and her husband Ty, Tim Nelson and his wife Patty and Thad Nelson and his wife Michelle; her cousin, Elizabeth Shelton; her niece and nephews, Natalie Lillibridge, Brantley Lillibridge and Austin Lillibridge and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 18, 2024, in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
