Sanford Lee Wood

Sanford Lee Wood, 93 of 1159 Washington Avenue, Weldon died Monday, June 4, 2012 at Hampton Manor in Gaston.

Mr. Wood was born May 13, 1919 in Halifax County, NC to the late Joe Wood and Lillie Bell Jarrell Wood. Mr. Wood was also preceded in death by a brother: Thomas L. Wood.

Mr. Wood is survived by his first cousin: Katherine Taylor of Roanoke Rapids; cousins Graham Taylor and his wife Sharon of Roanoke Rapids, Kathy Cullom and her husband Andy and Janice Hunt and her husband Gary both of Tennessee and Barbara Harris and her husband Gary of Roanoke Rapids.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, June 8, 2012 at Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Tony Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 P.M. Thursday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at 4996 Hwy 48 in Roanoke Rapids. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon..
