Sallie Johnson Lewis

Sallie Johnson Lewis, 67, of Roanoke Rapids, died Monday, December 3, 2012 at Life Care Hospital in Rocky Mount.

Sallie was born January 4, 1945 to the late James and Sallie Goodman Johnson. Sallie was a good mother and grandmother. She loved to play bingo, write poetry and loved her dogs. She worked for Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids for over 20 years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Dodson Lewis, and son Norman Allen Conner.

Sallie is survived by her son and primary care giver David R. Conner, son Edward G. Conner both of Roanoke Rapids; her daughter Tammy L. Felver and husband Chip of Goldsboro; grandson: Trey Mitchell Felver; brother: Ervin Johnson of Summerville, West Virginia; 3 sisters: Loretta Boyd of Chester, Va., Louise McLaughlin of Goochland, Va., and Martha Boone of Pink Hill, NC. Sallie is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Michael Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 7, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM.
