Ruby Vincent Weiss

Ruby Vincent Weiss, 94, of Roanoke Rapids, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Carolina Rest Home.

Mrs. Weiss was born September 28, 1916, to the late Percy Clarence Vincent and Jennie Mae Carter Vincent. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cole Weiss, her step-father, William W. Eason, and her sisters: Annie Freuler, Mary Moore, Dorothy Bland and Sally Workman.

Mrs. Weiss was retired from J. P. Stevens after 42 years of service and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother, William W. Bill Eason, of Roanoke Rapids, and a sister: Dolly Dever and husband Bob, of Lexington, Kentucky and a brother-in-law, Willie "Gene" Moore.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Old Cedarwood Cemetery at 2:00 P.M conducted by Rev. Casey Short.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, October 22, 2010, from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. and other times at the home of Terry and Shelia Wheeler, 724 Virginia Street.

The family would like to thank Community Home Care & Hospice and Tommy Pair, and the care givers and staff at Carolina Rest Home as well as her niece, Shelia E. Wheeler.
