Roy Carter

Mr. Leslie Roy Carter, 70, died September 5, 2021 in his Roanoke Rapids home.

Roy was born in Halifax County on September 25, 1950, the son of George and Nettie Carter.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George Jr. and Dallas; and dogs, FiFi and Rocky.

A welder by trade, Roy enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.  He liked football and was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan.  He was a loving family man that also cherished his dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Lee Carter; sons, Brian Scott Carter, Kevin Carter (Kristy) and Chris Carter (Christy); step-son, Kenny Ray Llaneta (Tammy); his twin brother, Troy Carter; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his dog, Jake.

The Carter family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday.  In keeping with Roy’s wishes, he will be cremated and no other public service will be held.
