Rose L. Ross Scott, 73, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Friday, November 6, 2026, at home.

Rose was born May 7, 1953, in Halifax County to the late Paige Ross and Estelle J. White. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Ernest White.

Rose attended Freedom Freewill Baptist Church, she loved her family, loved the Lord and her church, cooking and bingo. Rose retired from social services after 30 years and then worked 17 more years at Brightsmiles.

Rose is survived by her husband, Lane Scott; her sons, Chris Scott and David Scott and his wife Ilene; her brother, Ronald Paige Ross and his wife Linda; her grandchildren, Brett Lane Scott, Haley Scott, Madison Paige Scott, Ryan Scott and Karleigh Scott; her great-grandchildren, Brielle Scott, Hunter Lane Scott, Eric Keith Scott and Jamari Brown; special niece, Karen Ross and nephew, Ron Ross.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 10, 2026, in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Rex Evans officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
