Mrs. Rosa Sadler Blanton, 88, went to be the Lord and her loved ones, Monday, November 18, 2013 in the Roanoke Rapids Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Blanton was born in Halifax County, March 27, 1925, to the late Thomas Manson Sadler, Sr. and Clara Birdsong Sadler. She was a long time member of the Church of God on the corner of 10th and Rapids St. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blanton was preceded in death by her husband, Noah W. Blanton; son, Donnie Ray Blanton; daughter, Judith Diane Passmore; brother, Thomas Dick Manson Sadler, Jr.; sister, Lorine Crowder Stahl, and grandson, Kenney Blanton.

Surviving is one brother, Edward Wilson Blanton; one sister, Blanche Rose DeBerry and daughter-in-law, Brenda Blanton, all of Roanoke Rapids; two grandsons, Donnie Ray Blanton, Jr., and Rev. Barry Blanton and wife, Missy; one granddaughter, Rena Brown and four great-grandsons. Also surviving are special friends, Myrtice and Pete Hall and special family friends, Ruth Evans and Ovid Carroll, as well as, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 9:30-10:30 am, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, and all other times at the home of Blanche DeBerry on Pinecrest Ave., Roanoke Rapids. Pastor Michael Mooneyham will conduct funeral services immediately following the visitation in the chapel at Hockaday at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family has requested no flowers be sent, and that memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice in honor of Mrs. Blanton.
