Ronnie Garland Taylor, 68, of 241 Hunting Ridge Road, Roanoke Rapids, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at his home.

Mr. Taylor attended Weldon Baptist Church and was a Master of the Royal White Hart Lodge #2.

He was born August 3, 1942, to the late Garland Taylor and Christine Taylor Stephenson, who survives. Also preceding him in death was his wife: Ann Longmire Taylor, and a brother: Tony Van Taylor.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his daughters: Christy T. Johnson and her husband, Allen, of Roanoke Rapids, and Melissa Ann Taylor Shearin of Salisbury, N. C.; his brothers: Darrell Taylor and wife, Darlene, of Lake Gaston, and Jerry Taylor and wife, Anita, of Apex; his sister: Lynn Strickland and husband, Doug, of Chapel Hill; his grandchildren: David Taylor and Cameron and Connor Johnson; his great-grandchild: Emerson Ann Taylor; and a special friend: Carol Norcom.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, September 24, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and other times at 206 Beechwood Drive.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010; at 11:00 A. M. at Weldon Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Keith Thomason and Rev. Rick Gaskins. Following will be a Masonic ceremony in Cedarwood Cemetery, Weldon.
