Earl Hale, 72, died January 12, 2012 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC.
Earl was born in Martin County, May 8, 1939 to the late Andrew W. Hale and Bessie Harrell Hale Reese. He was a self employed farmer and left behind a host of precious memories. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his wife and family. He loved Roanoke Rapids First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was a member, and served Jesus for many years. He loved farming and after retiring, spent time fishing and gardening. He was a long time director and president of Halifax County Farm Bureau and Halifax County Planning Board and various statewide committees. He loved helping people and will surely be missed by his family and many friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother James Buddy Hale.
Earl is survived by his wife, Jean Clark Hale, his daughters, Sylvia and husband, Jeff Dickens, and Tracey Hale- Mayo; three granddaughters, Lindsee Cooke and her husband, Robby, Ashlee Alston and her husband, Drew, and Kaylee Dickens; one greatgrandson, Liam Cooke; one sister, Nan Hale Carpenter and husband, Dr. Rev. Ronald W. Carpenter, Sr. and one brother, Collin Hale and wife Dean, and one sister-in-law, Meltha Hale Adams.
The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Saturday, January 14th from 6-9 and other times at 170 Hale Farm Rd. Enfield, NC.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 15th at Roanoke Rapids First Pentecostal Holiness Church at 3:00 pm officiated by Rev. D.A. Leonard, Dr. Rev. Ronald W. Carpenter, Sr. and Rev. Ron Carpenter, Jr. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Enfield,NC.
Flowers are accepted and the family has also requested memorial contributions be made to Roanoke Rapids First Pentecostal Holiness Church
