Robert Gary Barmer

Robert “Bobby” Barmer, 69, of Halifax departed this life, July 9, 2021, at Vidant North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids.

Bobby was born, November 09, 1951, in Halifax County, son to the late James and Doris Lewis Barmer. He was a veteran of the United States Army, was retired from the Department of Corrections, where he worked in Tillery, and he loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving is his wife, Dawn Barmer; daughters, Lindsay Barmer, Stacie Chichester and Rana Fleming; brothers, Ray Barmer and wife, Susan, Jason Barmer and wife, Angie, Mike Barmer and wife, Melody, and sister, Peggy Norman; grandchildren, Krystal Fleming, Sharon Fleming, and Tracey Fleming; stepmother, Faye Barmer. Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Octavia Ross, Liliana Fleming, and Leila Tippett.

Pastor Rex Evans will conduct a memorial service Friday, July 16, 2021, at 4 p.m. at Freedom Freewill Baptist Church, which is located at 4516 HWY 125 East, Halifax, NC 27839.
