Robert Martin Aycock, Jr., 81, died at Kindred Guardian Care of Scotland Neck, Friday, February 8, 2013.
Mr. Aycock was born in Nashville, NC August 6, 1931, to the late Robert Martin Aycock, Sr. and Fannie Pullen Aycock. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and later worked for many years in the Patterson Mill. He also worked in the logging business with Harris Chip Company. Mr. Aycock was also a master mechanic. In addition to his parents, Mr. Aycock was preceded in death by his sister, Bessie A. West.
Surviving are two sons, Bobby Aycock of Roanoke Rapids, and Steven Aycock and wife, Courtney, of Asheville, NC; two daughters, Donna Aycock and husband, Ricky, of Roanoke Rapids, and Laura Ann Wood and fiancee, Billy Howerton, of Rich Square, NC; two sisters, Effie A. Liverman of Roanoke Rapids, and Katherine A. Dunn of Richmond; eight grandchildren Brian Nowell, Jessica Nowell, Kristy Wood, Stacie Wood, Morgan Braswell, Michelle Aycock, Andrew Aycock, and Alexis Aycock, and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Monday, February 11, 2013 from 7-8:30 pm.
Rev. Chris Howerton will conduct funeral services at Hockaday, Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the family cemetery in Ringwood.
