Richard Eugene Gregory

Richard Eugene Gregory, 66, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.

Richard was born in Halifax County, April 8, 1950, to the late William and Virginia Brown Gregory. He loved playing his guitar, banjo and loved wood working. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one daughter, Tara Denise Gregory; three brothers, George Buddy Gregory, Otis Tinka Gregory and Thomas Gregory; three sisters, Patricia Parks, Ellen Harris and Margie Starke; sister-in-law, Francis Gregory.

Surviving is his wife, Rhonda Thompson Gregory; sister, Betty Clary and husband, David; two brothers, Jimmy Lee Gregory and Robert Tiny Gregory; brother-in-law, Larry Thompson; mother-in-law, Mattie Thompson; one stepson, Robbie White and fianc, Bobbi Davis Perdue; one stepdaughter, Teresa Rhodes; two grandsons, Joshua and Brandon White; two granddaughters, Ashlyn White and Kaitlynn Rhodes; two great granddaughters, Harmony White and Aliana White; step granddaughters, Kristian Barber and husband, Justin, Abigayle Perdue; step great grandchildren, Justin, Jr., Addisyn and Declan Barber. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews he loved dearly; special family,Vernon and Donna Mosley, David Rhodes and Keosha Missy Webb.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Thursday, September 1, 2016, from 6:30-8:00 pm and all other times at the home. Rev. Wayne White will conduct a graveside service in Cedarwood Cemetery Friday, September 2, 2016 at 11:00 am..
