Retha Jane Harper Pilgreen

Retha Jane Harper Robertson Pilgreen, 74 of Roanoke Rapids, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Cary Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Pilgreen was born April 9, 1940 in Halifax County to the late Albert Harper and Pansy Louise Wilson Harper Hasty. Mrs. Pilgreen was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved raising her childern and grandchildren. Mrs. Pilgreen dearly loved her dog Harley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Dan Shelton Robertson and B. R. Pilgreen. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Linda Burris. Mrs. Pilgreen is survived by her daughters: Deidra Blanton and fiance Craig Warren of Littleton; and Shondra Robertson of Garner; her brothers: Alvin Harper and his wife Vicky and Timmy Hasty and his wife Retha; her granddaughters: Christina Burris; Tiffany Langley and husband Josh; and great granddaughters: Harper Grace Langley, Nebraska Jayne Burris and Zoye Burris; and nieces and nephews: Mark Harper and his wife Tiffany and Elizabeth Hasty. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 18, 2014 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Sue Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 8:30 P.M. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the funeral home and other times at the home of her brother, Alvin Harper, 167 Harper Road, Roanoke Rapids.
