Rebecca "Becky" Gail Wood Allen, 81 of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at ECU North Hospital with her husband and son by her side. Becky was born on November 19, 1944, in Halifax County to Edna Earl Jones Wood and Russell "Doc" Edward Wood.

Becky attended Roanoke Rapids High School and worked for a short time in the mills. She then did what she loved best, caring for children. She provided childcare in her home for numerous children over the years, many of which kept in touch with her as adults. Becky loved the sun and starting in April, you could find her in a lawn chair in her back yard or next door on her son's back deck. She cherished her annual White Lake trips with her extended Jones family.

Becky was a devoted member of E. 10th Street Christian Church where she faithfully attended since childhood until her health declined.

In addition to her parents, Becky was predeceased by her loving Aunt Mary Alice and Uncle William "Nic" Nicholson who raised her after her mother’s death and while her father was serving overseas. She was also predeceased by her loving brother Luther "Eddy" Wood and his wife Pat; her father-in-law Kenny Allen, her mother-in-law Madeline Bowen, her brother-in-law Jack Allen and his wife and her best friend Trudy.

Becky is survived by her loving husband of 49 years James “Jimmy Lee" "Crow" Lee Allen; the light of her life son Edward "Eddie" Vincent and his wife Lisa; her grandchildren Daniel James Harris and his wife Casey; Justin Edward Vincent and his wife Olivia; her great-grandchildren Maren Harris, Kenan Harris and Liam Vincent. Daniel and Justin hung the moon and stars in her eyes but there was nothing like those sweet great-grandchildren Maren, Kenan and Liam!

Becky is also survived by her sisters-in-law Mary Hansen and Melodi Allen Carroll; her niece Dana Allen Cooke and husband George; her cousins\siblings Gail Hagan and children Tony, Cory and Whitney; Kathy Harris and husband Bill and children Nikki, Ashley and Lynn; Bonnie Arthur and her children Benji, Todd and Brad; William "Cotton" Nicholson and wife Donna and children Brian and Brandon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 18, 2026, at East 10th Street Christian Church with Pastor Jason Yeatts officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home.
