Raymond T. Miles, Sr.

Raymond Turner Miles, Sr. 89, of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina was called home June 27, 2024, to be with his Lord and Savior.

Raymond Miles was born on May 6, 1935, to the late Wreford and Betty “Lula” Miles. Raymond is preceded in death by his wife Amerlius Ferguson Miles, and daughter Stephanie.

Raymond is survived by his children: Deborah, her husband David, and Raymond Jr; Grandchildren: Brandon Whitley, Jarrett Taylor, Hayden Marshall Wiltsie, Breanne and Braden Marshall, Justin and Tanner Miles; Great-grandchildren: Talon Lassiter, Paislee Davis and Sawyer Whitley. A brother Johnny; and a sister Paulette.

Raymond loved his family. He was a very hard worker who retired from Rightmyer Machine Rentals where he ran heavy machinery. Raymond loved getting into his silver Toyota Tundra to go off galivanting and to play the numbers. Often calling his grandchildren and asking them to look up the Pick 3 for the day and read him the winning numbers. If you knew Raymond well, you knew the significance of the number 101 and “give me a 3.”

A condolence gathering will be held between 6-8pm on Friday, June 28th, in his home at 1217 Charlotte Street. We welcome friends and family.
