Raymond Andrew "Buddy" Bass Jr

Raymond Andrew "Buddy" Bass, Jr., 83, of Belmont passed away June 4, 2015 at Carillion Assisted Living Center. He was born June 15, 1931 in Halifax County, a son of the late Raymond Andrew Bass and Bessie Marshall Bass.

Buddy was a Recipient of The Order of The long Leaf Pine; was a member of the North Carolina Real Estate Commission and chairman for two terms; a graduate of East Carolina University, where he played football. He owned Bass Construction and Realty of Fayetteville, NC and was a pilot and a member of Cape Fear Flying Association. He currently attended New Hope Presbyterian Church.

Survivorsinclude his Wife of 55 years, Joan Cable Bass; Son, Greg Bass and wife, Debbie of Fayetteville, NC; Daughters, Lisa Morris and husband, John of Belmont,SusanBass and fiance, Brad Hickman ofGreenville, NC; Sisters, Tommie Cubine of Virginia Beach, VA andCarolyn Aumente of Maryland; Grandchildren, Raymond Bass,Jason Moore, Erin Morris, Tyler Morris White, Emily Bass, andHannah Bass; great grandchildren, Townes Raymond White, Garret Moore, Aubryn Bass and Stella Bass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Sisters June Jackson, Mary Young Robinson, and Beb Cash.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM, Sunday at New Hope Presbyterian Church with Reverend John Pruitt officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

The family will also celebrate Buddy's life at 1:00PM, Tuesday at St. Marks Episcopal Church inHalifax,NC

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
