Randolph "Pete" Landen

Randolph Pete Landen, 85, of Westwood Drive, formerly of Halifax died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at home.

Mr. Landen was born May 25, 1927 in Wilson County, North Carolina to the late Joe and Minnie Williams Landen. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Betty Landen; five brothers: Ralph , Lewis Dick, Joe, William and Lonnie Landen; sister: Nellie Olmstead.

Mr. Landen retired from North Carolina Department of Transportation after 44 years of service.

He is survived by his three children: Gail Walker and her husband Lin, Kathy Queen and her husband Elvin both of Roanoke Rapids and Randy Landen of Halifax; five grandchildren: Kevin Wrenn and his wife Jennifer, Stephanie Floyd, Stacy Keeter and her husband Bradley, Randy Keeton and his wife Amy, Jami Landen and Erin Landen; seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. James Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, October 29, 2012 from 6:30 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home and other times at 101 Westwood Drive..
