Ralph Waldron Burger

Ralph Waldron Burger, 78, of Henrico died Friday, April 5th at his home.

Mr. Burger was born August 8, 1934 in Hagerstown, Maryland to the late Clarence and Gladys Spitzer Burger. Mr. Burger retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Helga Burger.

Mr. Burger is survived by his wife Gloria Polly Burger; his sons and daughters; Ralph Kenneth Burger of Dallas Texas; Karen Schrader and husband Gary of Seaford, Va.; Sam Beale and wife Donna of Richmond, Va.; Henry Beale and wife Christie of Roanoke Rapids; Donna Vaughan and husband Jim of Altoona, Pa.; his grandchildren Justin Schrader and wife Nicki; Erika Tilghman and husband Scott, Sean Burger, Chris Burger, Mike Kidd, Chris Lewis, Robert Snape, Jason Irons, Matthew Beale, Hunter Beale, and Clayton Beale; and several great-grandchildren. Mr. Burger is also survived by his sister-in-law; Bobbie Lou Shearin of Roanoke Rapids.

Graveside services will be held Monday, April 8th, 2013 at Cedarwood Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Roy Porter, officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 7th, 2013 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
