Pauline Freeman Conwell

Pauline Freeman Conwell, 80, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025 in ECU North Hospital.  Ms. Conwell was born on September 17, 1944 in Poquoson, VA, the daughter of the late Bertha and Robert Harold Freeman, Sr.   She was also preceded in death by her Son Earl Barnard Sanders, Jr. and her grandchildren Jonathan Lynn Johnston,  Jordan Tyler Nichols, Jesscia Sanders, Christopher Sanders, and Justin Sanders, and her friend Warren Pfeil.  She was the widow of James Conwell.

Surviving include her daughters Lisa Anne Bellflower (Jeremy) of Roanoke Rapids and Angela Pittsonbarger (Joey Anderson) of Harrisonburg, VA, her sons:  Robert “Robbie” Earl Sanders (Kim) and Eddie Lee Sanders, both of Roanoke Rapids, her brothers:  Harold Freeman, William Freeman, and Gene Freeman, all of Poquoson, VA, 14 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2025 in Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service will Pastor Chris Howerton officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the funeral home and at other times at their home.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.
