Paula Blanton Conner

Paula Blanton Conner, 70, formerly of Roanoke Rapids, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at her home in Calabash, NC.

She was born April 21, 1947 in Patterson, NJ to Florence Constantino and the late Buck Blanton. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Frank Constantino; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pinkie and Atkins Conner; Luther Push Conner, Wilbert Conner, Russell and Imma Conner, Betty Hardee.

She was employed at J. P. Stevens for 26 years, Nash General Hospital and Fountain Correctional Center for 7 years until her retirement. She also attended HCC and received her Phlebotomy Degree and Southside Community College and received her LPN Degree. After moving to Calabash she worked for Care Here of Myrtle Beach, SC.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Miles Conner; her children, Tracie Hayes Hammack (Bruce), Buddy Hayes (Traci) Barbara Hayes Jenkins (Ronnie), Cheryl Ryder (Michael) and Todd Conner; her grandchildren, Matthew Pike (Tracee), Whitney P. Huggins (Brandon), Brandon Hayes (Alexis) and Kristopher Cabiness (Amanda), Jody Cabiness (Rebecca) and Brent Hayes; her great-grandchildren, Hayley Pike, MyKinzey Pike, Jaden Pike, Brilynn Pike, Cenya Pike, Cyzon Pike, Alexus Hayes, Jayden Hayes, Kati Cabiness, Alyssa Kempe, Levi Cabiness and Colby Ryder; her siblings, Pat Glinsbecker, Valerie C. Duffy and Beth C. Malone; her half-sisters, Seretha Carroll, Ann Wright, Betsey Blanton Wilson and Kim Blanton Simmons; her nephews, Taylor Duffy and Ryan Duffy; her friend, Katie Conner; her pets, Angel and Missy.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Crestview Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jim Whitehead officiating.The family will receive friends Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 6:00 8:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home of Bruce and Tracie Hammack, 1428 Macon Avenue, Roanoke Rapids.
