Paul Nelson Underwood

Paul Nelson Underwood, 88, of Littleton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in his home.  Mr. Underwood was born in Mecklenburg County, the son of the late Hazel Brooks and Paul Underwood.  He was also preceded in death by his sister Joan Fowler and his brother David Underwood.

Mr. Underwood, an entrepreneur by heart, did many things over his life.  One of his favorites, was being a school and wedding photographer with his wife.  He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and golfer.  He had a talent for painting and carving.  He painted many different things including canvas, driftwood, and rocks.  Later in life he carved all kinds of fish and waterfowl.

He was a member of Calvary Church in Littleton, NC.

Surviving include his German Bride, Christa Frenzel Underwood of the home; his special niece Wendy Gardner (Chuck) of Wilmington; his God Son Gregg Ward (Amy) of Chocowinity; and his sister-in-law Maggie Underwood of Mint Hill.

A Celebration of Mr. Underwoods life will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 1, 2023 in Calvary Church, off 158 Oak Grove Church Road in Littleton, with Rev. Becky Turner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall with light refreshments.   Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.
