Paul Edward Holifield, 70, passed away at his home, Thursday May 8, 2014.

Mr. Holifield was born in Jackson, MS, December 9, 1943, to the late Noah Holifield and Louise Harper Holifield. He faithfully served his country for 26 years with the United States Navy and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He loved fishing and was a member of the Lake Gaston Stripers Club.

Surviving is his wife, Julie Holifield of the home; one son, Paul Edward Holifield, Jr. and wife, Jill, of LaVernia, TX; one daughter, Holly Holman and husband, Mike, of Henrico, one sister, Linda Bulger and husband, Phillip, of Greenville, GA; five grandchildren, Joshua Holman and wife, Carolyn, Katelyn Wiltsie and husband, Obert, and Allegra, Helana, and Ellery Holifield, and three great-grandchildren, Karson and Jake Wiltsie, and Emma Holman.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, Thursday May 15, 2014 at 5:30 pm followed by a memorial service to celebrate Mr. Holifields life beginning at 6:00 pm with Rev. Larry Grubb officiating.
