Patricia Nason Libbey, 79, died Tuesday at her home in Littleton, NC, following a long illness. She was born Jan. 3 1931 in Waterville, ME.

She was the daughter of Lyman and Marguerite Sullivan Nason of Oakland Me. She grew up in Oakland where she graduated from Williams High School in 1949. She graduated from the University of Maine in Orono in 1953. Patricia met her husband, Charles Libbey, while in college, and they married in 1952. During their 58 years of marriage, they enjoyed sports car rallying, square dancing, and helping with Toys-for-Tots for several years. The things Patricia enjoyed most were just being at their home on Lake Gaston and seeing her grandchildren and more recently her great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Libbey; daughter, Susan Libbey Hollis of Lynchburg, Virginia; son, Thomas Libbey of San Jose, California; six grandchildren: Elizabeth, Patricia, Lynn, Benjamin, Jeremy, and Eric; and three great-grandchildren: Sophia, Sage, and Lily.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, July 7th at 11:00 am at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Oakland Maine. Friends may call Tuesday, July 6th from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at Wheeler Funeral Home, Church Street, Oakland, Maine.
