Oswald Wixon Edwards

Oswald “Ozzie” Wixon Edwards, 88 of Seaboard, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at The Landings of Lake Gaston. He was born in Halifax County on December 31, 1938. He is preceded in death by his wife Norma M. Edwards, parents William and Thelma Edwards, brothers William “Billy” Edwards, Tony Manry, and grandson Chris Ferrell.

He is survived by his sons Timothy Mark Edwards (Mary Jo), Gregory Wixon Edwards, daughters Wendy Turner (Michael), Belinda Medlin (Michael), grandchildren Timothy Mark Edwards Jr., Ashley Nicole Edwards-Ashley, Ryan Edwards, Kendall Edwards, Brandon Medlin, Jonathan Medlin, Heather Bailey, Ashley Richards, Chistopher Medlin, Allison Medlin, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, special friends Calvin McClarnon, Bobby Draper, Johnny King, Johnny Williams, Earl Youce and Beth Edwards.

Ozzie was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and great grandfather great great grandfather, he loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He was a former member of the Seaboard Lions Club, and he attended Seaboard Methodist Church. Ozzie was a great person who never meet a stranger and would help anybody in need.

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday March 19, 2026, from 7:00pmpm to 9:00pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service. There will be a funeral service at the Seaboard Methodist Church on Friday at 2:00pm with Pastor John Taylor presiding. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
