Norma Jean Mason Edwards

Mrs. Norma Jean Mason Edwards, 81, of Seaboard died Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in Signature Healthcare in Roanoke Rapids.

Norma Jean was the daughter of Jasper and Goldie Mason, and was born December 18, 1940 in Northampton County.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Greensboro Church of God; attended the Roanoke Rapids Church of God while living here.  When she relocated to Seaboard she began attending the Seaboard United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Edwards enjoyed taking long car rides with her husband, Ozzie.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 49 years, Oswald “Ozzie” Edwards; her children, Mark Edwards and his wife Mary Jo, Wendy Turner and her husband Mike, Greg Edwards, and Belinda Medlin and her husband Mike; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; her brother Bobby Mason; sister Nelda Pope and her husband Donald; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Mason.

Norma Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tommy Manry; son, Tony Manry; Grandson, Christopher Ferrell; and a brother, Thomas Mason.

Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Saturday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.

The funeral service for Mrs. Edwards will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Seaboard United Methodist Church, with Pastors John Taylor and Carlos Castano presiding.  Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
