Nora Harlow Shelton

Nora Harlow Shelton, 68, died Thursday, April 2, 2020 in her home in Halifax.

A Halifax County native, Nora was born Jan. 24, 1952, a daughter of Genie and Lois May Joyner Harlow.   Her parents; husband, Robert Shelton; 3 sisters and 1 brother all preceded her in death.

Nora received an Associates Degree from Halifax Community College, and was the retired office manager for Enfield Apparel.   She was a long time, devoted member of Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church.  She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, as well as reading and watching TV.

Survivors include her sons, Bob Shelton, II, and Jimmy Shelton; her daughter, Hope Shelton Kidd; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Charlie Harlow and Genie Harlow, Jr; and sisters, Mary Mozingo  and Lois Jones.

A private graveside service will be held at 11am Monday at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield.  Plans for a public memorial service will be announced at a later date. Due to CDC recommendations for COVID-19, (social distancing and decrease attendees at group gatherings), the funeral home will restrict attendance numbers for all services at this time.
