Mrs. Nina Mae Hodges Coburn Carroll, 96, died Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Guardian Care in Roanoke Rapids. She was born in Enfield on May 18, 1915, to the late James Manley Hodges and the late Sally Bell Hodges Jackson.

Mrs. Carroll was a Christian lady who loved the Lord and was amember of Victory Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife andmother who loved her family very much.

Mrs. Carroll worked for 58 years as a spinner in the Roanoke Rapidstextile mills. During this time she also enjoyed working in hervegetable and flower gardens.

Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her husband, Early Carroll.

She is survived by two sons, James William Billy Coburn, Sr.and wife Willene, of Chesapeake, VA, and Richard Ray Coburn andwife Barbara of Roanoke Rapids; one sister, Oreather Harding ofYoungsville, NC; one half-sister, Sandra Hodges Keech of Washington,NC; one step-sister, Shirley Niles Berry of Washington, NC, one step-brother, Jack Niles of Virginia Beach, VA; 5 grandchildren, KathyCoburn, David Coburn, Susan Coburn, Kimberly Coburn Roach andJames W. Coburn, Jr.; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm on Monday, February 6,at Hockaday Funeral Home which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, February 7, atHockaday Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Coburn and Rev.Michael Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CalvaryBaptist Church Bus Fund.
