Nettie Lou Parks, 81 of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by family at The Lodge at Rocky Mount on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.  She was born on October 11, 1943, in Roanoke Rapids.  She was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Lena Jenkins, her husband Joel Ray Parks, son Barry Lee Parks, her brother Roger Glenn Jenkins Jr., sister Amelia Wrenn.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle Cooke (Greg), grandchildren Kasey Robinson (Caleb), Cody Lee Cooke, Erin Paige Nail (Brendan), Justin Brigman (Angela), great grandchild Leighton Robinson, nephews Gary Parks (Janet) and Roger Jenkins III.

Nettie Lou, was also known as “Mimi” by many who loved her. Mimi was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She loved to working in her garden, cooking, butterflies, shopping, keeping her grandkids, making people laugh, and playing cards and puzzles.  She was a cosmetologist and after she retired she was a caregiver for many people.

A memorial service will be held on February 1, 2025, at 1:00pm in the Hockaday Chapel. Gary Parks will be presiding.
