Nannie Lou Etheridge Faries Revelle, 98, of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Liberty Commons Nursing Facility in Weldon, NC.
Nannie Lou was born November 15, 1914 in Halifax County to the late Nathan Lewis and Lucy Jane Johnson Etheridge. She graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School and furthered her education in Philadelphia, PA where she received her Registered Nurse Degree. Nannie Lou was a nurse for 40 years. She returned to Roanoke Rapids where she was an active member of Rosemary United Methodist Church, Lifetime member of Emera 119, Order of the Eastern Star, Jo Story Senior Center. She volunteered for Roanoke Valley Red Cross and at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
She is proceeded in death by two husbands, Charles Duke Faries and Leonard Revelle, her brothers Eugene and Hubert Buck Etheridge. Her sisters, Catherene White, Annie Mae Underwood, Lillie Bell Gantt, and Missouri Rawls.
She is survived by her nieces, Jane Brown, Laura Lambert and husband Kenny of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Her nephews, Albert Etheridge and wife Teresa and Gordan Etheridge and wife Effie of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Great Nephews and Nieces Edward Barlow, Jr. and wife Sharon, Albert Etheridge Jr. and wife Susan, Bill White and wife Jenny, Lawrence White and wife Cindy all of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Catherene Cardinale and husband Patrick of Willow Grove, PA. Melissa Barlow-Singletary, Molly Brown, Wendy Sheryl Morris and husband ONeil, Lisa Hatchell and husband Mike of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Step-daughter Anne Hardison Howard and husband Al and their children David, Leigh Anne, and Amy. She is survived by a host of great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special friend, Bonnie Jenkins.
The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Monday, February 11, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and other times at the home of Jane Brown, 577 Bush Ct. Roanoke Rapids, NC.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Rosemary United Methodist Church with Rev. James D. Bell officiating.
